Xbox World and PSM3 aren't the only gaming magazines shutting down. As we learned back in August, Nintendo Power got canned after an agreement couldn't be reached between publisher Future US and Nintendo.

Writer Phil Theobald, who is now technically former Nintendo Power staff, announced via Twitter that the magazine's offices had all but closed their doors. "The Nintendo Power office is packed up, and we're close to shutting it down," he tweeted. "Thanks for all the kind thoughts and words of support, folks."

Theobald went on to say that the final issue of Nintendo Power will be available on December 11. It's a bit surreal to think about such a long-running publication reaching the end of its journey. Here's hoping the magazine's staff finds work soon. Here at GameZone, we'd like to wish the very best to all the great writers who have been involved with Nintendo Power.
