Two Oddworld games coming to PS4, Wii U, mobile, and more

Oddworld: New 'N Tasty!

Oddworld Inhabitants has announced a list of upcoming platforms for both Oddworld: New N' Tasty! and the pre-existing Stranger's Wrath HD.

We learned earlier this week at E3 that Oddworld: New N' Tasty!, a high-definition remake of the very first Oddworld game, is coming to the PlayStation 4. It's also headed to PS3, PS Vita, PC, Linux, Mac — and Wii U. It arrives this holiday season.

"These are exciting times for the independent sector of the industry, and both Just Add Water and Oddworld Inhabitants are proud of what we’ve accomplished together," said Lorne Lanning, the co-founder and co-owner of Oddworld Inhabitants, in a press statement. "We are very happy to be able to release on so many platforms and look forward to giving new and old fans a chance to revisit Abe’s adventures with a modern twist.”

What about the Xbox One? "We are still hopeful to get the game on the Xbox 360," wrote Oddworld Inhabitants in a blog post. "We have concept approval, which means Microsoft have OKed the game, but only if a big publisher distributes it. We’re working on that bit at the moment. There are currently no plans for the Xbox One due to the same limitations.

"As we’ve said time and again, we are platform-agnostic … We’re happy to publish on any platform that’ll have us!"

The developer's previous release, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, is also scheduled to land on Wii U in HD. It's already available on Xbox, PC, PS3, and PS Vita. Ports for iOS and other mobile operating systems are on the way as well.
